In the course of our research for the GolfLearning site, we were reintroduced to this book by Gary McCord over 40 years after first reading it. And we were pleasantly surprised by the depth of the
teaching delivered in such a short and simple manner. For example, in all of our studies, we have never seen the grip discussed in such clear and understandable
terms. In addition, Armour discusses a lot more than just swinging the club. As the title implies, he teaches us how to play our best golf every time we play.
Tommy Armour ( "The Silver Scot") was a well known and successful tour player who learned his golf in Scotland working with such masters as Harry Vardon, and John
Duncan Dunn. After retiring from the professional circuit, Tommy settled down at The Boca Raton Golf Club in Florida where he was constantly overbooked at the unheard
of sum of one hundred dollars a lesson. But people paid it gladly because he delivered results.
We are so impressed with this book that it has been chosen to move into the number two slot behind
Swing the Clubhead in GolfLearning's Top Ten. The thoughts on the mental side of the game expressed in the book are so simple and profound that we have to consider adding the book to our Mental Side of Golf. This is truly a great book, and we highly recommend it to players at all levels of development. BROWSE/ORDER Paperback (You may put it in your cart and return) |
