Harvey, best known for his students; Tom Kite, until recently the
tour's all time leading money winner, and Ben Crenshaw, the best putter in the game, was America's best loved golf teacher. Used to working with the biggest names on the men's and women's tours, he gladly worked
with beginners, and hackers with the greatest of joy. He didn't care what a person's game was, he was always happy to assist in helping someone do better. He also didn't believe in packaged, one-fits-all
instruction, often not letting any other player hear what was being said to a student. His method was to teach through simple and easy to understand analogies. For example, he says of the golf grip, "If you
pick up a yardstick and let your hands fit it, that will come closer to giving you a good grip than anything I could write about where to point your V's and all of that," We think all of Harvey's works are treasures.
